This week question:
Do you read along with your Audio books? (submitted by Angelica @ Paperback Princess)
My answer:
No, I hate audio books. Maybe in the future I will use them when my sight won’t be that good anymore, but not now. Audio books are just boring.
I like audiobooks for when I am also doing something else. Just sitting to listen makes me doze off though!
Exactly! That’s why I don’t like them. I get bored quite easily, my attention span is quite short so I get distracted a bit too often when listening to stuff and I don’t like sitting and listening (I rather have a book in my hands). And if I listen while doing something else, I get distracted and don’t remember the story line… Thanks for stopping by!
One of the people I work with doesn’t like audiobooks for a similar reason (referring to your above comment). I’m a fan, but I also commute an hour to work, so… However you read, happy reading!

Thanks for stopping by! When I commuted by bus I read because I don’t get motion sickness and when I drove to work I preferred the radio so I had traffic alerts (and for the same reason as my previous comment, I get distracted). But now I see why a lot of people listen to them while doing other stuff. I actually didn’t understand why people liked them so much before.
Last year, I’d have agreed with you. Now, I don’t. I’ve been learning to listen to them since January while commuting and I’m really starting to love it. I’m listening to Rick Riordan’s Heroes of Olympus series and they’re so good… Although my usual romance reads are AWFUL as audios so I’m thinking of sticking to fantasy for the commutes.
I’ve never thought about people using them while commuting, but I see the usefulness now. For me, the problem, that I should have said in my answer above, is that I get distracted easily while listening to anything so I wouldn’t be able to follow the story… Thanks for stopping by!!
