This week question:
When reading a series, do you re-read the previous book/s before reading the newly released book? (submitted by Angelica @ Paperback Princess)
My answer:
No, except for A song of Fire and Ice (for the newbies: the book where Game of Thrones came from). I read the first books in 2003/2004 so when the last book came out I didn’t remember anything (or the most part). I will probably read the series again when the next book comes out (maybe in 10 years… seeing the author’s pace). And no. I’m not watching the TV series. I want to read the books first and then watch. (So at this pace again I will never watch the series… I just hope I will be able to read the books before my eyesight becomes bad… Come on Martin!! Write those books!) But for other series, no because I read mostly crime series and you really don’t need to remember all the details in those books (and because the authors write quickly so no need do fresh up my memory).
Great answer!
The fact that you went back and re-read books in the Song of Ice and Fire series is an accomplishment on its own! Those are pretty hefty books to commit to re-reading!
Thank you. Yeah, it took me a while to re-read them but it was worth it! Thanks for stopping by!
so true with crime series and I like it about them – so many books to chose from and you do not need to read them in order (mostly)
I have not seen Game of Thrones either)))
I do read them in order though even if it isn’t a “must”. Thanks for stopping by
I love the GoT tv show. I doubt he’ll ever finish the book series…
Yeah, I doubt that, too…
