Same here…I do not want to damage them.
I take mine off and wedge it between two other books on my shelves with the spine showing. I know where to find it when I am done reading.

I read the dust jacket on, and often I’ll use the flap as a bookmark.
Heh… I did this too in the past but then the cover flap isn’t bent correctly anymore and I get angry… I’m a little OCD when it comes to books
