It’s a snow day! So today I’m adding a tutoial and since it’s winter I’m adding a springish one .
We’re going to make this header:
1. Open a new canvas, 950x200px (or the size you want your layout)
fill out with 94beff for the sky and click on Add Layer Style icon and choose Gradient Overlay… or in the menu click on Layer –> Layer Style –> Gradient Overlay…
and use this settings:
you have something like this:
2. Now take the pen tool with these settings:
and create the land/grass (details once you clicked the image):
click on Add layer Stayle icon and choose Gradient Overlay… or in the menu click on Layer –> Layer Style –> Gradient Overlay…
and use this settings (same as before):
You have this:
3. Now make a new layer (ctrl n), take the Eliptical Marquee Tool
hold down the shift key (for a perfect circle) and make the circle for the sun in a corner:
flood fill the circle with f6ff00 and click on Add Layer Style icon
and choose Outer Glow… or in the menu click on Layer –> Layer Style –> Outer Glow…
and use this settings:
result:
4. Create a new layer (ctrl n), drag it under the land/grass one:
take the Polygonal Lasso Tool
to make the rays:
when you’re done double click on the sun to close the marquee:
flood fill the selection with ffffff and lower the opacity to 30%:
5. Download some trees brushes and some birds brushes, I took mine from Tiffcali06 on DA but apparently she’s redoing them and are not avaible at the moment but any others will do. Of course load them in photoshop and create a new layer (ctrl n) above the sun one.
Select the brush tool , color ffffff and one of the birds brushes you just download. Draw some birds on the layer, lower the size of the brush and draw some more:
6. Now do the same with a tree brush in 05a316
7. Now take the pen tool again with these settings:
and create the river (same technique as the land/grass):
8. Add some waves taking a round soft brush 6-10px (depends on the size of the layout) and handdraw some curvy lines with 618dd2, add some bunny shapes (standard with photoshop) and a bird near the river or on the river:
And you’re done Of course you can add other brushes or whatever you want
as I did in mine:
