About the book

Like all stories about the atomic bomb, this was also very touching. I always want to know more about the subject and have an innate desire to know what happened in those first moments.

About the book

I think I’ve found another genre that I like. Or rather I like the subject, stories between the first and second world wars have always fascinated me and also everything related to the second world war.

I didn’t know that in England before the war they bought gas masks. When I read it, I went back reading the accuracy of what I had just read.

Forensic archaeologist Dr. Ruth Galloway is in her late thirties and lives happily alone with her two cats in a bleak, remote area near Norfolk, land that was sacred to its Iron Age inhabitants—not quite earth, not quite sea. But her routine days of digging up bones and other ancient objects are harshly upended when a child’s bones are found on a desolate beach. Detective Chief Inspector Nelson calls Galloway for help, believing they are the remains of Lucy Downey, a little girl who went missing a decade ago and whose abductor continues to taunt him with bizarre letters containing references to ritual sacrifice, Shakespeare, and the Bible. Then a second girl goes missing and Nelson receives a new letter—exactly like the ones about Lucy. Is it the same killer or a copycat murderer, linked in some way to the site near Ruth’s remote home?

New series and new author. I chose this book because the protagonist is an archaeologist and therefore something different from what I usually read.

About the book

Penultimate book in the Grant County series. Jeffery and Sara are arguing by the lake near her parents’ house, when Jeffery trips over a pipe coming out of the ground. The tube is connected to a coffin in which they find the corpse of a young woman. The woman is the granddaughter of a reverend from a community just outside town and the appearance say it is the usual cult of religious fanatics. But not everything is as it seems.
