Here’s Part 1, Part 2.
Today I’m posting the last part of my Amalfi Coast trip. We’re not on the coast anymore, actually we aren’t even in the same region as before but for continuity I’m going to call this post with the same title as before.
We left Ischia in the middle of the sea and we’re back in the continent. Today it’s a Friday and we need to move towards Viterbo. While traveling we stopped to have lunch in a restaurant near Rome, close to Colli Albani. We arrived in Viterbo late in the afternoon.
Here’s Part 1
This post will cover a three-day stay in Ischia, a volcanic Island in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Last time we were on the ferry from Pozzuoli to Ischia, a sunny a windy day. We arrived late morning in Pozzuoli, almost missing the ferry but like everything in Italy the leaving departure was postponed. It took one hour and a half to cross the sea.
When arrived, we ate lunch, the food in that hotel was amazing… the rooms not quite so… too small, I couldn’t even move to my bed without injuries against the wall.
There were only 10 cm between my bed and the wall and I had to be careful to get up from the bed or I would have knocked my head against the wall. More so, no bedside lamp on my side because how can you put a lamp in a 10 cm space? We complained and they changed room for us, it was a little bit bigger but not much (at least no more head against the wall!!).Continue Reading
In this part I tell you about my trip to Maiori in the South of Italy and to Amalfi and Positano.
We left on May 28 quite early and arrived about 6 in the afternoon (geez I was so tired!). We traveled all Italy long since I’m from the North and stopped a few times at the rest stops while on the highway.
Maiori is a small town on the coast and the streets to access the town, are not small, minuscule! If you’re used to American streets well… you probably have some problems driving there (I mean I’m used to Italian traffic and it was quite an experience for me too… I need to say we were on the bus so even worst!). The worst part was when we encounter cars from the other way and motorcycles surpassed us. I don’t know how many “almost-head-ons” we had. Anyway, after this scary drive we arrived at our hotel and had dinner (I never eaten so well during a vacation in a hotel as during this one, and I am very picky). Pasta with zucchini and shrimps and fried fish, yummy! and obviously dessert.Continue Reading
